We care about you. That's why St. Luke's is dedicated to improving the health of our neighbors. To help you stay healthy and well informed, we are pleased to present programs, screenings and support groups designed especially for members of our community.



Community Health & Wellness



Free breast cancer screenings for uninsured women and men

Thanks to a grant from the Northwest Ohio Affiliate for Susan G. Komen for the Cure, St. Luke's Hospital will provide screening mammograms for 100 women and men at risk for breast cancer.

Safe Sitter

This one-day course teaches 11- to 13-year-olds the basics of babysitting. Subjects include child development, first aid and injury management, and choking rescue for infants and children. Lunch and snacks are provided.

Shots 4 Tots

This program provides immunizations for area children. Also, pre-adolescent shots are available. No appointments are necessary. Each shot costs $5. Some insurance billing is provided by the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department (TLCHD). Contact TLCHD at 419-213-4121 to answer questions regarding insurance billing or for more information.

Tobacco Cessation: My Path to a Tobacco-Free Future

With the help of certified tobacco treatment specialists, you’ll design a personal plan to help you through the process of quitting tobacco use. In a group setting, you’ll learn why quitting tobacco is hard to do and why it’s a physical challenge; understand cravings, the signs of addiction, the emotional aspects of tobacco use and how medicine can help; and find tips and resources to maintain your tobacco-free life.

Tobacco Cessation: Personalized Tobacco Treatment

During one-on-one sessions, you and your tobacco treatment specialist will put together a plan to help you quit tobacco use. Your treatment will include counseling and information about medicines that ease withdrawal from nicotine.

Diabetes Education



Diabetes Support Group

Whether you’re newly diagnosed or have been living with diabetes for some time, this support group gives people with diabetes and their family members a forum for sharing ideas, concerns and feelings about living with this chronic disease. Topics will include: eye care, humor, grocery shopping, exercising, financial concerns, foot care, yoga and relaxation.

Individual and Group Diabetes Education

To help best manage your diabetes, the Diabetes Care Center offers classes Monday through Saturday. And, for newly diagnosed patients, we provide a special educational series that includes four classes and two hours of one-on-one education with a nurse and dietitian.
