This four-week class helps parents-to-be prepare for their baby's birth. You'll learn the signs of labor and delivery. You'll also find out about Cesarean birth, recovery, baby care, parenting and more. In addition, you'll tour the Family Birthing Center. Generally held in the evening. Call for details. This 2-1/2 hour class reviews the benefits of breastfeeding for both Mom and baby. You'll discuss myths adn common concerns as well as how to continue breast feeding when you return to work. You'll also take a look at different types of breast pumps and learn how to use them. Dads are welcome! Other topics include: understanding basic breastfeeding techniques; preventing sore nipples, engorgement and other concerns; making sure your baby gets enough breast milk; understanding diet, medication and lifestyle while breastfeeding; and introducing the bottle.
