More than 38,000 patients are treated each year in St. Luke's Emergency Services. A recent expansion added private treatment rooms; acute care rooms for traumas and serious illnesses; a pediatric room equipped with special 'kid-sized' equipment; a gynecological exam room; an orthopedics room for fractures and other injuries; and an eye care room.

Because more than one-fourth of emergent conditions aren't of a serious nature, St. Luke's Emergency Express offers expedited treatment that gets you on your way more quickly than traditional emergency room care. Emergency Express is perfect for conditions such as stitches, earaches, colds, fevers, coughs, migraines, sprains, back injuries and even minor automobile accident injuries. Our quick treatment is backed by the staff and technology of the Emergency Services department - just in case the suspected case of heartburn becomes a heart attack.

St. Luke's Emergency Services and Emergency Express areas are staffed by physicians, nurses and technicians who are specially trained in emergency care. The recent addition of the Heart Center at St. Luke's Hospital, the area's newest comprehensive cardiac treatment center, just down the hall from Emergency Services, ensures that patients with suspected heart problems receive the specialized care they need - quickly.
