TOLEDO, Ohio – St. Luke’s Hospital is among six other leading healthcare providers from around the United States who were awarded a 2016 Putting Patients First grant from The Association for Medical Imaging Management (AHRA) and Toshiba Medical on February 27.
The grant awarded to St. Luke’s will improve the video and audio technology it uses during magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) exams to alleviate patient claustrophobia and reduce the need for sedation. It will improve comfort, safety, and the overall patient experience.
“This innovative technology will allow patients to get through an MRI with comfort,” said Director of Radiology, Jackie Creque, R.T. “We appreciate the support of AHRA and Toshiba Medical, who share our commitment to putting patients first at all times.”
“Patient health is at the heart of everything we do at Toshiba Medical, and we have a strong commitment to developing imaging technology that allows healthcare providers to deliver safe, comfortable and accurate exams to their patients,” said Cathy Wolfe, senior director, Strategic Communications and Market Intelligence, Toshiba America Medical Systems, Inc.
Four other Putting Patients First grants were given for pediatric facility and equipment purposes and two other healthcare providers were given patient care and safety grants.
