[Maumee, OH]— John Bachey received the 2017 Clair F. Martig Award at the June Board meeting of St. Luke’s Hospital. This award recognizes Bachey’s outstanding service to St. Luke’s as a member of the board for the last 10 years and as Chair for the last 5 years. “John’s steady leadership and negotiation skills led the hospital through ProMedica joinder and divestiture process, which allowed St. Luke’s to return as a stand-alone, independent hospital,” said Jean Emery, St. Luke’s Hospital Board member and past Martig Award recipient. Bachey continues to serve the hospital as the Chair of the St. Luke’s Holding Company. The Martig Award was established in 1987 to honor and recognize individuals who have made significant contributions to St. Luke’s Hospital. It is named for Clair F. Martig, who served extensively on the Board of St. Luke’s between 1951 and 1968.
