When Cancer Strikes, You Need a Warrior by Your Side.
The cancer doctors at St. Luke’s Hospital understand that cancer is as genetically different in each patient as a fingerprint. That means our cancer center team will treat you as the individual you are. Your care plan will be as unique as you are, and our oncologist specialists will tailor and monitor your treatment plan to deliver the best results possible for you.
The Northwest Ohio Oncology Center, located on the campus of St. Luke’s Hospital, is equipped with the best tools available to give you the most advanced individualized care available. Our cancer doctors are skilled in the latest radiation and chemotherapy techniques, and can recommend the most sophisticated treatments available for you. For example, we offer intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT). IMRT is a precise, targeted style of radiation therapy that allows for the radiation beam to change shape. The radiation beam can conform to the shape of the tumor– so that the cancerous cells are targeted better and more healthy cells are spared than with traditional radiation therapy.
Our cancer doctors treat only cancer, so their time and talents are 100 percent committed to treating every stage of the disease. Using a cross-team collaborative approach, our cancer doctors and other cancer center specialists apply state-of-the-art technologies and innovative treatment options – all while remembering that they are treating human beings. At St. Luke’s, you’ll have your own multidisciplinary team of cancer doctors and other specialists who are dedicated to treating the cancer while helping you manage side effects, maintain your energy and stay strong throughout treatment.
Keeping you informed and empowered.
Though we use the most advanced medical techniques for treating cancer, our cancer doctors also realize that cancer care needs to go beyond the treatment. Our staff makes sure that you and your family have access to the latest information about cancer treatments and community services that will help you during the treatment process. From education to support groups, the resources you need will be here for you.
