Interventional Radiology

Interventional radiology is a radiology specialty that includes minimally invasive image-guided procedures to diagnose and treat diseases. Interventional radiology is a rapidly growing area of medicine. Interventional radiologists are physicians who specialize in minimally invasive, specialized, or targeted treatments performed using imaging guidance. The procedures are usually easier on the patient because they are minimally-invasive. Most of the time, interventional radiology is less costly than surgical procedures and reduces recovery time and length of stay, and can even be done as outpatient procedures.
